Spice Jars

Serax

Those jars got their existence from my interest in Laboratory glassware.

Laboratory glassware may be made from several types of glass, each with different capabilities and used for different purposes. But borosilicate glass is the most common material. It's transparent and can withstand thermal stress. it also has a very low coefficient of thermal expansion, and this is how I created the spice jars.

Borosilicate glass has standard industrial cylinders. I heated up a small part of those cylinders till high temperature and blow up the glass with air pressure. It's like blowing up a ballon from glass. Because of the heating process created constantly a different shape, each jar is unique.

These small jars are a stylish way to display your herbs and spices. With a cork stopper and white accented base they will look great in any kitchen.
