Hi, my name is Niels Datema, a 32 years old designer, graduated in 2013 at the Design Academy Eindhoven. One year before graduating I have founded my own studio. My products fit various fields of product design, ranging from table- and kitchenware to lighting and everyday objects. As freelance designer I have mostly been active in product design, predominantly focusing on the gastronomy world, working for chefs and restaurants.

 

Working with specific materials and production techniques primarily trigger my inspiration to start new projects. After exploring the possibilities in working with a specific type of material or in using a specific production technique I try to find a way of applying this in an everyday product.

 

I am a designer who loves minimal design and simple lines; I strive to create timeless products that fit nicely in every environment. Before starting at the Design Academy I completed the 4 year study for woodworking, furniture design and interior design. As I wanted to further enhance my skills in product and industrial design, I started at the design academy.
